Preproduction Plan
1. Some materials we would need are ice cream and actors. We can probably use a normal phone camera or an older camera for that grainy look for filming. For costumes, it'll be typical teenage clothes (a top and jeans). Our storyline is a murder mystery downtown in the city as a girl walks home alone after hanging out with her friends. Which is why we'll need the location to be downtown and at an ice cream shop. While there is no murder weapon, we will have an actor to be the one kidnapping her to depict the crime. The main and only prop here that we would use is ice cream, which we can just buy on set at the shop. As for actors, we can use friends and some people from my group. As for lighting, we would need to arrive at the film location a little before sunset to portray time change. When the friend group walks into the ice cream shop, it'll still be light out, and once they leave, it'll be dusk. This is also so when the main girl is walking down the alleyway, the mood and feeling of the film are dark and unsettling. As for sound, we will have to edit some upbeat/lighthearted sound at the beginning and end with the sound being dramatic and fearful.
2. The location overall is going to be in an ice cream shop. It can take place ordering ice cream and walking around after. As for the murder/crime, it can be found outside walking past an alleyway. We have decided the ice cream shop will be a local shop in Dade City that one of my team members works at. She will ask her manager if it would be okay for us to film both inside and outside the shop. Permission would be important since we'd want to film at night. We aren't sure how long the filming process would be, so we would need an extensive curfew.
3. The positions I would be responsible for would be director and cinematographer. I could probably fill in as an actor for some of the film as well. I know people in my group that would fill in also as cinematographers and editors. We would mostly need more actors for manpower. We would just need people to fill in as extras to make the scene look like a medium-sized friend group going out. I would use my friends as extras, so Carlee and James. That's if they are allowed to make it. If there are any anymore needed, we would probably use other friends from my group members.
